"There's a rally! Can we go, PLEASE?"

West Bengal Chief Minister Matama Banerjee along with other members of the Trinamool Congress spoke at the TMC rally, organized to celebrate the group's election victory and observe Martyr's Day. We could hear the rally from the metro station as we were about to get tickets to go to Kalighat. I whined enough to convince the girls that we needed to go see it and I am SO glad I did. We tromped through ankle deep muck, slid through mud pits and got mobbed by men trying to take our picture but it was so fun! We couldn't understand anything that was being said but you could tell that the people were excited their leader had come to visit and to speak to them. There wasn't a shortage of cheering, chanting and drum line type things!

Not an unusual sight for us.

So maybe it's not the safest decision I've
made so far... but I got some cool pictures!

Monsoon Much?

Our courtyard at the BMS earlier this morning, it has since gotten worse...
It has been literally monsoon-ing all morning. We are hoping that it will clear up a little before we leave for Kalighat Temple so that our time there won't be a total waste but it doesn't look like it will be letting up anytime soon. We are also hoping to make it to Harry Potter later today; we tried yesterday but the tickets were sold out by the time we got to the movie theater. Hopefully today we will have better luck! We are all feeling a lot better - we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will all continue to feel better and that we won't start on another round of sickness now that we've seemed to have recovered from this last one.

Pictures from Darjeeling

So you could the Himalayas if that cloud wasn't there.

That is a painting of the view we would have if the clouds had lifted.

Tea Flower.

Our awesome guide Sanjay climbed up the side
of this hill so he could get a good picture for Amanda and me.

Cute kids that ran up to us and asked us to take their picture.

So the Himalayas would be visible behind us
if that massive cloud wasn't there... we were so close!

They wanted us to take there picture.

Trying to show how short the door was,
it didn't come out as well as I had hoped.

Our photo shoot in the stairwell.

Our breakfast place.

He was selling cotton candy!!

It was so funny to see these all terrain vehicles
driving around this quaint mountain town.

Just a couple of the potholes.

They wanted a picture with us...
