We stayed up late on Wednesday talking about life, love and happiness or variations thereof and decided that we would probably be better off sleeping in a bit and going to the Victoria Memorial instead of getting up early and heading to Freeset. Well, I woke around 11 and the girls did laundry or were on the computer until then and it was storming so we decided that the Victoria Memorial was also out. With Amanda, we decided to go see a movie. Our English options were Transformers 3 or Delhi Belly. We picked Delhi Belly and it was hilarious! One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. There were some moments that were highly inappropriate that all made us cringe a little but save for those, it was a really good movie! Afterwards, Amanda and Ally went to Spencer's while Katie and I set off to take pictures. We were told by some of the mall security that I wasn't allowed to so we went shopping... and amazingly neither of us bought anything! However, had the "Final Chance" rack been on sale like we thought it would be and Katie told them it was, she probably would've gotten a shirt...
This morning Ally and I went to Daya Dan and it was actually kind of nice. We got out of laundry duty, which I think has a little to do with it... But I helped one of the helpers change Shantuh's shirt because he had rice and water all of it (he had decided he didn't really want to eat today and proceeded to cover the girl I was helping, me and himself in his lunch and his water). And after we were done, she said thank you, twice! That may sound trivial and maybe even a little sarcastic but it was absolutely the most uplifting thing. I know that we are not there to be recognized or to even be appreciated and it wasn't about the appreciation or recognition. It was just so nice to see that something I had done actually helped. At Daya Dan, so often it doesn't feel like we make any sort of difference or are any type of help to either the sisters or the helpers, that it makes moments, like a worker saying thank you, so uplifting.
